2011 was the driest 12-month period in Texas history. Temporary relief has been offered through recent rains and cooler temperatures. However, groundwater and surface water supplies have been drawn down and have not recovered. Meterologists forecast drought conditions will continue through the spring and summer months of 2012 with high temperatures and more dry weather. We urge HMW-SUD customers to avoid unnecessary water usage as much as possible in order to lower your billings and limit the level and length of water restrictions in the future.
